{Spotlight Project} Shirley Creates A Folk Flower Mixed Media Card


I found a piece of part-painted mixed media paper in my "unfinished" stash and decided to put it to good use to make this card:


Here's what it looked like before I got to work on it:


I'd loaded the card with Distress Paints, spritzed water onto it then let the colours dribble down.

I forgot to take photos during the transformation process, but here's a quick rundown on what I did:

Filled in the gaps with Twisted Citron paint.
Smudged some white acrylic paint on with my fingers.
Stamped the large flower images and stems from FolkFlowers.
Masked the images then stamped images from the Mixed Media Elements.
With the masks still in place, added blue paint with bubble wrap.
Stamped the sentiment from Hope Blooms.
Removed the masks and added highlights with white gel pen.
Matted onto black card then mounted onto base card.
