January CAS Card Challenge

Hey there, STAMPlorations friends! Welcome to the first challenge led by our brand new CAS design team.

Our CAS Card Challenge is pretty simple: it's straightforward anything CAS goes with the optional color twist. Create a clean and simple card with or without the color we've picked to include. And for this month, silver is the optional color twist. (You can use other colors with silver.)

But what is "clean and simple" to us here at STAMPlorations? Lots of white space? Clean design? No grunge/distressing? Bare minimum? One focal point? Yes and no to all the above. No, because we think "clean and simple" can be pretty subjective/relative. What's clean and simple to you may not be clean and simple to another. Here's the deal: your card qualifies as CAS if it is significantly cleaner and/or simpler than your usual makes. For example, your cards usually have a lot of distressing, grunge, layers, and/or embellishments. Just make sure you mention it in your blog post :o)

The team will vote on the winner and top picks with the winner invited to guest design in a future challenge. (We'll supply the winner with a stamp and stencil pack to use too!) Then we'll randomly draw one player from all the entries to win some spending money on the shop -- a $15 gift certificate if STAMPlorations products were used or a $10 gift certificate if without. For the complete challenge guidelines, click here and scroll down to the CAS Card Challenge info.

So let's see what the STAMPlorations girls in the CAS team created for our inaugural challenge.

Ksenija kept her card CAS with one beautifully colored focal image.

White space doesn't have to be plain -- and Toni gave her white space some yummy texture by embossing it.

It's possible to create CAS cards with grunge/artsy-style stamps and watercoloring, as what Karola has done.

For Lisa, a stenciled background paired with diecuts make for a CAS card.

Linda kept her card CAS with a bit of splattering and sponging confined to one area.

So how about you show us your CAS cards? The linky is open until the end of the month and you can enter up to 3 cards with or without the color twist. You're not required to use STAMPlorations products (although we're always thrilled to see projects made with them). For the full challenge rules, click here. The CAS team will be back in two weeks to share more CAS cards for this month's challenge.
